I will be in Miami this weekend and into next week. I have reviewed some of the posts in regards to access. I am an experienced, safe rider, IKO certified. What is the best place to ride for this weekend's conditions- Crandon, Matheson Hammock, or just off the beach? Thanks.

So, it looks like Saturday may be good for a while. For my part I am heading down to the Keys again. This weekend and last they were forecast to have fairly good winds both Saturday and Sunday (15 to 20 mph this weekend).

Regarding Miami, conditions should be good for Crandon or Math. Hammock. You need to register with the Park office and have a helmet at Crandon of course.

There are also rules posted at Math. Hammock and it may be pretty crowded. The water and wind conditions should be similar at both Crandon and Math. Hammock although it might be a bit gustier at Math. with the wind passing over Key Biscayne first.

There is the sea taxi option as well with http://miamikiteboarding.com/ and perhaps through http://kitehatteras.net/ . With these operations you get well away from shore and crowds and ride in fairly calm waters in the Bay.

I would avoid the other public beaches particularly the guarded beaches.

Hope you get some good sessions in.
