What happened? I drove all the way down to the keys and all I saw was 1 guy flying a Best kite. Like nobody was there? That was a lot of gasoline.

This was at Whale Harbor? What day and time did you head down? The wind was pretty light this weekend unfortunately.

Yeah it was at Whale Harbor. I got there on Saturday at noon time and there was like nobody there. The wind was light. I hope the Miami Masters in Crandon Park isn't the same thing. I would like to see it.

Looks like the wind was well below 10 mph at mid day. Saturday was particularly light. Things picked up a bit on Sunday but were still below normal March levels for past events. It all comes down to what winds come in for future events. This has been a remarkable off wind season so far for the SE coast.

No wind on sat-the freestyle was on friday. Sup races were sat. I was there on sunday and the winds were light, but they were able to pull off the course racing and the freestyle expression w/ the kicker and slider. Fun course racing-riders had to work hard to get up wind to clear the markers, and the toughest obstacle, the sailboat. Tommy fields rocked it and came out on top.

Thanks for the summary, sounds like fun! Just ran into Packet and Helga after the Gilberto Gil concert tonight. Told me about the same thing, good on Friday, ebbed on Saturday and came back somewhat on Sunday. Had to work Friday, thought about coming down Sunday to shoot the action. Was concerned about marginal winds, tried to call down to get a local perspective but had no luck. Hope we have normal seasonal winds next year for all these events.
