Got this off of the NOAA weather forecast today. 9-14 knots??? 7-12 knots??? 8-13 knots?? Is this a new appraoch to be more precise with winds?


FRIDAY NIGHT...NORTH WINDS 9 TO 14 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 3 FEET.
INTRACOASTAL WATERS A LIGHT CHOP.
.SATURDAY...NORTH WINDS 7 TO 12 KNOTS. SEAS 2 FEET OR LESS.
INTRACOASTAL WATERS A LIGHT CHOP.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...NORTH WINDS 7 TO 12 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET.
INTRACOASTAL WATERS A LIGHT CHOP.
.SUNDAY...NORTHEAST WINDS 8 TO 13 KNOTS. SEAS 2 TO 4 FEET.
INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP.

As of now it's only like this on the Miami forecast. The Keys forecast still has the increments of 5 knots like we typically see....5-10....10-15....15-20.

Spin doctering of the forecast? Strange, seems to be for Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and off Naples but not the Keys or points north on either coast? We have more precise winds than these other areas?

Ever notice how the weather channel states 10 to 20 mph, a lot? NWS may say 5 to 10, more often 10 to 15 mph for the same period. These are land forecasts. NWS changes to knots and seems to add 5 to the total.
