heading down to islamorada, any recomendations of good spots to launch from a boat; are there small islands close by or only sandbars?

Thanks

No islands except for State Parks. Most kiting is from land, boats and sandbars. There are plenty of sandbars on the ocean side and low tide is in the middle of the day this week along with full moon close by, make sure your not in too shallow of water before low tide. Keep off the flats and have fun.

If the wind is out of the W, NW or N. The Sandbar in front of Holiday Isle is doable but there are better spot on the bay side to be had but you have to know where.
