There are no associations and restrictions yet to kiteboard in Malaysia.

In peninsular Malaysia (not East Malaysia) you can kiteboard in the East coast beaches. A good place would be Balok and Cherating beaches.

The kiteboard community is a small one now and growing.

Thanks for posting information about your area. What sort of wind and water conditions do you have there? Do you have flat water and wave riding areas? What are the best times to visit the area for kiteboarding?

At Balok Beach,
Flatwater mostly and sandy bottom beach, no rock formation mostly.
Water is warm, clear and without seaweed.

Currently light winds now between 5-8knots. Come monsoon in November it is a constant all day wind at 12 knots and gets stronger to 20 knots in the late evening.

Good season begins from November to January when we have the monsoon madness competition (Asian Windsurfing Tour leg) and also an innaugral kiteboard competition took place with only four particpants this year.

The community has been there for awhile but I have taken it a step more by having a beach house for gatherings and getting new people to join in the sport. Will appreciate the presence of pro riders who want to come here. Will provide accomodation, meals and fees on a profit sharing basis!

We do have other locations with similar and scenic sights and also the islands. Is there a place to post picstures in the forum?
