Alright boys and girls....it's on....the picnic/demo will take place this Sunday Oct. 26 at Sunset Park in Tarpon Springs from 10-4.

Sunset Park is located west on Gulf Rd. which also runs right in front of Tarpon Springs HS. Parking will be limited so get there early if possible. There are showers, restrooms, picnic areas and grills.

As most of you know, this spot will be shared by many windsurfers and kitesurfers for the first time due to the construction project at Howard Park. This picnic will give an opportunity for both parties to meet and greet and have some healthy discussion about the spot.

In addition to lots of board and sail demo's, we also plan to have:
Crossbow and Switchblade 2009 IDS kites as well as 2008 Switchblade's.
Cabrinha Custom, Caliber, and Plasma boards.
Slingshot Len10, Glide, and SX boards.
Nobile kiteboards including the Schinn wave.
Stand up paddle boards
Bic Open Sailboat

Time is set from 10am to 4pm weather permitting. At this point, there are signs that a cold front may push through and bring some wind from the north. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Looks like there might be a little east on it in the morning, but my guess is it will clock more to north by mid day. Either way, we'll be there ready to roll in the am.

See ya there.

Many thanks to Watersports West, Triton, Slingshot, and everyone else involved. Today was a blast! I'm so tired I probably won't even make it to 8pm.

The demo/picnic at Sunset Park was a huge success. Tons of people showed and everyone had a great time. The stoke was high and the chicken dogs were actually pretty good. Where was the ketchup?

A huge thank you to all that attended.

Matt and Neil had an arsenal of 09 gear from Slingshot. A well balanced line of 3 very different kites. Cudos to Slingshot for bringing different strokes for different folks. There is a kite there for every style of rider.

Thank you to the Litewave girls for representing with the new V-Sonic and Trix kites as well.

The kiters and windsurfers blended well together and considering the space, that place can hold more folks than I thought.

Looking forward to the next one.

Also want to congratulate Marina, Tampa Bay's newest kitesurfer. She is the Steve LeVine's 13 year old daughter and was gettin it on a 7M kite the whole afternoon. The wind was that good.
