Interesting stuff.

The first issue was addressed via the second reading of proposed Ordinance 08-05 defining that “all boating” include surfboards, skimboards, kayaks and Hobie Cats in addition to motorized vessels. Commissioner Alan Bildz said he did not think it was the intention of the commission to prohibit surfboards and skimboards in the swim zone and that such apparatus would have to be split from the current definition of “all boating.” City Manager Reid Silverboard suggested continuing the reading of the ordinance at the next meeting so that definitions could be worked out.

Sounds like they wanted to take the easy way out and throw everything (all types of "vessels") under the current definition of "all boating". Never would have seen that coming :rolleyes:
