Hey guys
I just got a date for the beach day for the kids at the Children's Home, it's going to be July 23 (wed). The time will go from 11 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon. There is going to be a soft ball and soccer game also a treasure hunt, egg toss, relays, potato sack races, tug a war, sand castle contest and much more.

I have talked to the sailing center in Clearwater and they are going to give me a cat to give sailing rides on also, I have a couple of friends with wakeboard boats that are going to put a show on if the water is calm enough.

I am expecting that they are going to bring any where from 60 to 120 kids. The full staff of the children's home is going to be helping me out on the beach, so I am not worried. The more that want to help out the better. If you need public service hours or you have things you would like to donate, I have forms for either.

If you want to be involved in this event or you have ideas to make this bigger and better, please come over to my house for a cook out on July 11th.

Thanks
Mike Hall

Found this in my mailbox after work:
I just wanted to thank you and your organization for a great day on Wednesday. I have not seen the entire campus have that much fun, staff included, in a long time. The event was very well organized and the people you have working with you were great with the kids. We were honored to be a part of your organizations first big event and look forward to seeing Kite 4 Life grow! Good Luck with everything and be sure to pass along a BIG Thank You from everyone at The Children's Home.
Mike Hall Did a FANTASTIC job organizing this event, and Scott L. was the grill MASTER. He also treated us to oysters rockerfeller at the end of the day!
The volunteers were clicking on all cylinders with 5 grills going full blast to feed 150+ hungry people right on time.
The beachside activities were a blast, with everyone working with the kids in the water and getting them up on SUP's,surfboards, and skimboards.
Special thanks to Suncoast Surfrider Foundation, North Beach Windsurfing, and all the local kiters who helped make this event happen!
We are looking forward to more great events soon!

A few pics are up in the gallery on TBKA http://tbka.org/gallery/index.php

If you took any pictures, please send them to steve@kite4life.org
We can not post pics of the kids for safety reasons, most of them were removed from abusive homes.

Thanks again to everyone who helped make this happen!
Next time you see Mike Hall, make sure to congratulate him on a job well done.
See ya at the next one!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that helped out in the beach day. It was a blast and went off with out a problem. All the kids got a chance to surf and paddle surf. The under tow, shaners meat market, and the Wharf, fed all the kids and there was more than enough for the volunteers.

Thanks Skott, Steve, Steve's crew,Megan, Bill and Tiff, Steve O, N Shore wind surfing, Surf riders, Life Guards, Surf Shack, Watersports West, and every one that else that made it happen. You guys ROCK!

Mike

Still sorry I missed it. Too bad pics of the kids couldn't be included, but I totally understand.
I couldn't find the actual homepages for a couple of those restaurants (?), so I did the best I could on those.
If actual websites exist for them, let me know.

I know I saw a site for the Undertow a year or so ago. Can't find it now, after a fairly exhaustive search.
