THAT'S IT!

I'm Outta Here!

starting today until somebody around here appeases those who make the wind crank, I'm leavin'! ( at least for two weeks )
Next time you guys hear from me will be from the Gorge where I'll be on my 9m kite everyday. Don't worry , I'll send some pics back to try to motivate
the wind gods to make a visit here too.

In the meantime, a sacrificial board or kite may be in order. :D

Sounds like you are going to be the sacrifice!

The more you spend on your trip the more wind we will get.

Well, Thurs, Fri and were windy. Our new tri fins rock! Today Sat was easily 9m and 7m kites on call for the sess.
It is so much fun going off on these swells and then turning toeside on them as you crank turn after turn.
Quads are for slashing , these Tri's carve awesome!

Back in my windsurfing days it seemed like Doug's Beach(WA side) had some of the better, bigger swells. Also spots further east. Where does everyone kite there? The pop you get off some of those swells must be unreal because I remember them almost getting vertical - you probably don't even need to send the kite to get huge air. Some of the launches must be really sketchy - I remember slipping down the rocks at the Hatchery while all the pros and photogs were there - priceless!

I'm so jealous because my 2 week vacation starts tomorrow but it's in Cleveland. Hopefully Lake Erie comes through for me!

Had a great session on the sound today after 3 days on the ocean side riding waves. Rode with Morgan Skipperdene today, she was sporting her new board off trick and was a cool person to meet. Definite good vibes up here in Waves, NC at Hatteras Island Sail Shop, Barton and Rider are always very cool and offer up their compressor and their launch to rig and ride... Definite good times, learned a new grab and everyone is super cool with TONS of riding space here. I am definitely lucky that my annual family reunion is here in OBX!!! Glad to hear the wind is nice up there in Oregon too Raul and Lori!

Yeah Hatteras has been great. Wind every day. I am so sore. Not used to riding this many days in a row.

Been at the Oregon coast camping last two days, wind has been great here and also the waves for perfecting those cutbacks off the top!

I dunno, there's alotta sketchy launches at the gorge , we just stick to the event site there where its sandy

For the gorge event site when the sand is showing at the spit wont catch me launching any other place on the gorge too gusty and too many rocks and I am too old so bad combination for trying that. Oregon coast plenty of safe launch sites. Tried my board in waves for the first time. First time out struggled big time as not used to the surfboard and thought I saw a shark but probably was a sea lion.....

Second time out got it down now ready to charge unfortunately leaving today. Then it will be three months before can use the board again hope these old muscles remember for November winds (blah blah blah) sorry for you guys waiting for the thunderstorms to pass. But don't worry most of you get way more time on the water then us as working in North Tampa as hard to get to the water before dark so most of the year we are on the other side of this so we get to boast for only one week, then get to read all your post for the rest of the time
