Scott has been working overtime to get the rider profiles up on the site, thanks to the ones who have already submitted theirs. We don't care how long you've been kiting- tell us how much you love kiting and send them in!!! send to: localsrock@tbka.org

He's also added a Photo Gallery for all locals to easily upload pics

There's also a new "Progression Session" section in the works, that will help newer kiters fill up their bag o' tricks. If you have a trick or tip that will help someone progress, here's the place to share it!

I have added new info on Kiting in Currents and Venturi Effect, and how it relates to some of our spots. Please add info and experiences to them.

Reminder to Leadership Team- Get your profiles submitted ASAP, Scott has already begun uploading them!

Great work Scott, the site is looking GREAT!!! Thanks for your hard work!

Don't be shy about the rider profiles. :) The more, the merrier.

Submitting a profile is by far the easiest way you can help our local community out. It takes about 30 minutes to write a decent sized profile (it can be shorter) and include a few pics.
Make it as long as you want though, with up to 7 pics.

How would a profile on a website accomplish anything?
Well, if we got half of the locals to submit one, we would have over a hundred of them. In a time of need, such as talking in front of City Council or talking to Jim Wilson at Fort DeSoto, having 100 profiles of nice people on a site saying how much they love kiting can only help our image. It can't hurt to have a positive reference for news paper articles, etc., as well.
Plus, it helps us know one another.
So, please don't underestimate how much we value your profile, don't be shy, and send them in.
Like Steve said, how well or how long you have ridden doesn't matter. What the profiles are going for (in my mind) is how much kiting means to you.
If we have a hundred people saying that kiting means a lot to them and brings their life joy, it's going to make people think twice before taking it away (at least that's my take).
It also matters zero which shop you work at or whatever. So instructors, please do include where you work with a link.
Sponsored riders, feel free to include who sponsor's you.

In terms of the photo gallery - if you register for the TBKA forum, you have registered for the gallery and receive permissions to upload kiting pics to the TBKA gallery, if you so desire. Just keep them PG please, since the site is trying to put out a positive image.

You can add your "nickname" or FKSA username in the custom title section of your profile, which will be shown under your real name.
This is solely to maintain the integrity of the forum and its quality of content, and to allow each member one vote on upcoming important issues.
