ALL are welcome to come and watch the event, should be fun, light winds will make it harder, break out the skim boards!

This event is issued under a permit from the city of key west for college riders to come and ride and compete. If you are not registered, you will not be permitted to ride during the hours of 10 am -3pm, as the beach is permitted to the comp. I have had some inquires that companies will send riders down and do demos. As a company that does business , doing a demo is solicitation . Please leave this for the riders, this is not a free event to come and pimp gear[if it was i would have cabrinha right out there..lol]. Make this a positve event, you will be asked to leave if you are from company’s trying to promote gear. The codes people will be there inforce, as during spring break and the rest of the year "no" one can sell, demo , or advertise with out a permit. Trust me, just trying to save some people along drive then just to be pissed off.

Winds will be light, but we have some funs things to do for them!

Darn Paul, does Todd have to cancel the private CABRINHA jet with pre-paid hookers for the event?

All kidding aside, it the event totally closed to students? If not, i'd like to go around a few buoys, if so have fun down there. Thanks.

Regards,

Kent Marinkovic

the beach is there for the riders in the comp, and is permited and insured for that till tuesday.......so wind looks like sat and monday. Again, the beach is not open for bussiness....please contact me if you have questions. As i am held responsible for this buy the city and insurance company, there kite companys will have to follow the guideline, you can see what i wrote above.

There is no schedualed demo days, i repeat.....sorry kent private jets, people just showing up,sorry.

Before I drive all the way down to Keywest, will you guys hold the event even if there is no wind? The wind looks really week for the weekend. The wind report is calling for 11knots tops.

Are 8th and 9th graders aloud to compete in this event?

Thanks, Enrique

Hey Enrique,

Matt must be snowed under getting ready for the event to respond so I'll take a swing at it. Someone else asked the same question so I already have the answer in this case.

This is a permitted, insured College Event for registered participants. If you don't have a current college ID you won't be riding, even for fun, at the event site on Smathers Beach until the event is over. So, no high school students or even ex-college guys like myself will be permitted on the water at the event site. There are further prohibitions on commercial gear demos.

I was thinking of going but all things considered may opt for some deep scooter free diving off Key Largo. Hope the guys have fun and more importantly take some pictures so the rest of us can see some of what went on. Youtube is great, stills and youtube are even better, hint.

Have fun down there guys. Reminds me of a Spring Break we once had ....

p.s.- Hey Matt, if any of this is inaccurate please let us know.
