Great news. The Cocoa Beach Surf Museum will be hosting a Quiksilver Edition Big Boards Clinic on April 10th. The instructors will be Jamie Mitchell and Bonga Perkins. They are two of the worldʼs top ocean athletes, displaying world champion style in everything from long distance paddle boarding to stand-up paddle surfing.
At the Big Board Clinics presented by QuiksilverEdition, these two legendary watermen will for the first time ever share their secrets of technique, training and toughness. Focusing on both paddleboarding and stand-up paddling, Jaime and Bonga will, during this exclusive all-day program, comprehensively cover everything from board skills to race strategy, from new equipment to nutrition, from strength training to surf style.
Whether you want to challenge Jaimeʼs record six wins at the Molokai to Oahu channel crossing or just become a better paddler; whether youʼre just getting started in stand-up paddling or see yourself surfing next to Bonga in 20-foot Sunset Beach, the Big Board Clinics presented by QuiksilverEdition is your chance to learn from the very best.
This event is free! and will be held at the Holiday Inn, Cocoa Beach. We expect to have lunch provided and hope to have special room rates for those wishing to stay overnight. We are still working out some details and will keep you updated. We will have flyers available at the Florida State Paddleboard Championships.
