This one is subtle in some respects. He had plenty of time to hit his QR but chose to ride it out. Also, you would have a hard time doing this on a properly functioning flat kite, just push your bar all the way out. He was riding powered but it didn't look totally powered. Perhaps he added the distance of the lofting by pulling in on his bar, even if it was a C kite.

The female bystander wasnt really shocked about a guy pommeling into the ground 5 meter next to her. :? She wont get the Trouble Shooting Award thats for sure.

Does anyone know if this guy has experience or not? Or...is this an all too common scenario where one "freezes"? Either way, this looks dangerous, painful and even a bit silly???

I'd say he's very lucky not to have a rather large fin jammed into his back or up his ass, that could kill :rolleyes:
