Take a look at Tuesday and Wednesday. I don't think in all the years of looking at the charts, I've seen more confusion. Goes from -0- out of the south in white to 28 in RED from the north.

You can't tell if the cold front is comming out of the North or sneaking up from the South.

Nice colors though....

Ikite has always sucked.

Accuweather is the best, imo. They nailed today's forecast 2 days ago.
They even had it picking up at noon and slowing at 4.
They also had the wind direction shifts nailed.
Unlike Ikite's technology that relies on 2 trained chimps, crayons and a dart board; AW has an actual human using stuff like computers and satellite images to do the forcecasting.
I am sure other sites are good too, but AW is the real deal. :)

:)

Oh, they tend to be pretty conservative on their NW coldfront windspeeds. If they say 20, plan on more.
If they say 30, you are probably about to get rocked!!

They do better than any other, imo.
It's still just a forecast and we are talking wind.
But, I would bet on them against any other service, any day of the week.
It's as good as educated guessing gets, imo.

i added this to my post in the 'Wind Links' sticky thread in the Let's Ride forum.

If anyone has more links to add there, please do....

The other invaluable one that you have and posted is the Albert Whitted link.
That link is more reliable than the SW for ENE NE and E I think.
It's also dead on for Lassing.

the albert whitted sensor is also the one that the weather channel has (at least here in the burg)on it's crawler @ the bottom of the screen.
very reliable.
prolly n pine county has a different sensor.
normally it refreshes hourly but on the weather channel it refreshes more frequently when noticable changes occur.
peace

good to know because i love lassing and the weather channel usually shows a lil. more than what north shore has, so now i can ride lassing more!!
