View Full Version : Where to kite in Palm Beach
A friend got me two cheap nights at the Ritz-Carlton in Palm beach next tuesday till thursday. What is the best place to ride in that area?
Just off the beach of the Ritz? Any restrictions? I don't want to screw anything up for the locals.
Any tips? Thanks!

That is the Ritz in South Palm Beach aka Lantana? If so, I am not aware of restrictions although as a matter of course I would avoid going in front of the hotel, at least within 100 yards of the beach. The same applies to the guarded area immediately to the north. To the south of the Ritz there are some condos and then individual mansions with lower density of people and ideally, complaints. You should have some nice waves if a good cold front blows through. Hope you get some good wind and rides. HIGHFLYN should have some input on this as well.
If it is the one I think it is, it's the building at the SE corner of Ocean and Ocean. You can see the public beach to the north and condos to the south.

Thx Rick, yep, that's the one. Thanks for the tips.
I hope for a little calmer weather, only experience on flat water. Would be first time in waves.....small is good enough i figure.
Is there spot nearby where more kiters are.....for advice in waves?
Thx again!

The closest is probably Delray Beach to the south about 20 minutes. The kiting area is about 400 ft. south along the beach from Casurina Road away from the guarded beach. More about the launch and rules at:

If you want to drive a bit further for flat water, checkout the Miami Flats:

LOL, Thanks Rick.....I live in Miami, we're just getting away for a little change of scenery!!! Might try Delray, definately not going to try the flats......means that I'm back home!
Good winds!!!!
