Hello all, hi Rick I. - been a while.

So I'm going to Sarasota in Nov for T-day and want to kite and bring my stuff. I have a couple noobs with me.

Where can they get training?
Where are the launch sites listed? (i've scoured this site, and several URLs on people's signatures, but no detailed launch sites or rules anywhere)
Where can I kite in Sarasota???

Looking forward to your replies and TIA (thanks in advance).

I have the St. Pete, and Tampa area launch info on my site. Also if you are looking for instructors I have many listed on my site as well!

thanks. i'll keep that in mind in case we decide to drive up or down the coast a bit. Do you know of any info on sarasota? Seems no one kites there? Its on the water, is kiting banned there?

Actually, quite a few guys kite in SorrySota.
It's a great group of guys, at least 20 or so. Most just don't hop on here.
They are restricted mainly to the beaches (anything w/o East), I believe, and visit our area on East winds.

Maybe try to get hold of Laurel at Island Style Windsurfing/Kiting at 941-954-1009

If not, someone will hop on here, eventually. Maybe Philthy.

I used to Kite in the Sarasota area and they have a lot of great spots for anything with West in it. If it has east in it your best bet is to drive up to the Skyway or East beach. Its not that far from the Sarasota area.

So the forecasts look kinda weak. Is there any wind coming this week at all? Anywhere?

I am hopeful for the best and hoping the locals can reassure me of a great kiting week in FL! thurs to Monday?
