Hey guys, I live up on Long Beach Island in New Jersey working 6 month summers from April through October. So here's the deal, a buddy of mine and myself are looking for where to go for this winter and the opportunity has come up to go down to the Ft. Myers area and we're just wondering how the wind is and if its the place to be to kite for the winter. Thanks a lot for any feedback,
Kev

The SW coast is particularly good during the westerly components of stronger cold fronts. The more strong cold fronts we have the better it is. There is sheltered as well as some wave areas accessible from the Ft. Myers area. I would ask Latino for more info about what to expect wind wise in the winter there. There may be more rideable days off the east coast of Florida during the winter season, still the west coast guys do pretty well during wind season.

last year we seemed to get alot of west wind, but thats definitely not normal.

ft myers has one good area to ride east winds, the only other place on the west coast to also score east and west winds is the tampa/ st pete area

Also, since cold fronts clock around from West to East, They are always colder when they start as west wind on the west coast and end up much warmer when they clock around finally to east wind on the east coast
