Been hangin' out on FKSA for a few weeks now and never did introduce myself.

So WAZZZZZUP fellow Kiters!!!

I'm here in Dunedin, been windsurfin' these waters since '92, when I moved here. Started kitin' about 2 months ago (right before the wind freakin' died!)

NOW I understand the phrase "Windsurfin' has been cancelled"!!

Most fun I've ever had is ridin' the kite!! (well... 2nd most fun thing!:) )

I may have met a few of you other locals out ridin'! But I wanted to say

WAZZUP!!! THINK BIG WIND!!!

Later!!

Did I meet you that one day out there at Sunset Beach (just North of Dunedin) that day there was us 2, John on a big Waroo and 3 windsurfers? It was 3 weeks ago on a SSW wind of maybe 12 to 15 knots.
I think it was actually Sean I met (not TBN, but another Sean), but maybe it was you Todd (?) I may have mixed up the names.

Welcome to the area Todd. (I think you are in Tampabay area, close enough)
The Tampa/St. Pete/CLW/Dunedin areas are some of the best places in the U.S. to kite all in all, (imho) for 8 months of the year when you combine our ability to ride so many wind directions and not freeze, and probably the worst (for wind) the other 4 months. I think you are really going to like riding here. I use to windsurf as well. That sport is okay, if you live somewhere with A LOT more wind on a regular basis. You will be surprised how 12 knots on the kite feels about like 18 relative to the windsurfer "powered up and planing" type of feel (you probably already know that).
We will be getting plenty of riding days this year.
Good move switching wind sports :)

Nope.. never been to sunset beach. I tend to stay close to home, Honeymoon.. Caledesi... 3 rooker... etc.

YEah.. I've been sailing these waters since 92. I'm amazed at how much more ridin' time there is on a kite! KICK A$$!!!!!

Maybe I'll cya @ the Skyway sometime!! Or if we can get a kite-nite going... that would be cool!

Later bro...

I will probably travel more North on weekends occassionally to Honeymoon and surrounding areas on NW winds this season. I have a gut feeling it's better wind up there.

On easts, I guess you will be down this way.

I would post here http://www.fksa.org/forumdisplay.php?f=10
even if "technically" wrong. :)

During the short time of the pre-race and actual run, I got the impression that winds are stronger up there as well Scott. Hope to get back there to check it out again in the fall with a good cold front.
