anybody used the best or flexi handle pass leashes???
i need to get a new one and wanted to see which would be a better choice???

my main two concerns are accidentally hitting the QR on the leash (happened twice on my old SS leash) and how easily it is to climb up the leash (ie my current leash is a very thin bungie which is hard to pull the bar back to me after a missed pass)

thanx for the help...

also, if anyone has one for sale let me know

I use the Best HP leash... haven't had any problems pulling in the kite after throwing the bar, it's not hard on the hands... never accidentally released, the tube is tight on the mechanism... but I still make it a point to check it now and then when I am riding just in case.

Also, it's short so it doesn't get wrapped around your legs, but it stretches out pretty good too.

Only problem I have found with it is that the inside locking edges of the gate hooks are sharp. A few seconds with a file removes that problem.

I use the NSI leash. nice and big so easy to walk up with your hands. For safety I use the Mystic Warrior Waist Harness with the built in QR for the handlepass leash attachment point, only reason I connect mine to the HP leash point as I am not doing HP's!!!

I could only find the long thin NSI leash (although they call it a handle pass leash maybe from the old days).

Where did you get the thick one?

Here's the newest best leash:

Looks like they updated the release to prevent accidental releases (added neoprene under the release tube).

WSW is good for it. I went there recently and just bought a long bungee and a couple of clamps. I use it on my session harness that has the the built-in QR for the handlpass.

Yeah, I think that is the NSI leash. But if you go to the hardware store you can buy those same clamps for a few bucks less...just make sure you get something that won't rust easily...

yo turn your leash around so when you climb up it there is no QR to hit.

that way it will be down by your waist.

i have the same leash, and have NEVER, not once, hit the QR.

and if you saw my leash you'd be amazed it's still holding together, it is no longer a bungee, it's completly stretched out, and the QR is all broken up.

The clip is supposed to be at your waist anyway or you wouldn't be able to reach it! Made that mistake only once. :D

Byatchez, I just tie my unit to the bar in case the shit hits the fan. More fun to pull on the leash that way. Even when you are not kiting.

Can't be any different than tying dental floss...
