Hey all. I was surfing around trying to find a group of peopl that are kiteboarding here in Melbourne. I've seen a bunch out and about.

I've just moved to the area, I've been sitting on two rigs for about a year or more and I'm dying to get out there now that I live by the beach! Anyone interested in helping a newbie get his wings? I was an avid wakeboarder and have taken the basic class to get somewhat familiar with the kite. I've read too many horror stories to just get out and kill myself or worse yet hurt someone else!

Looking for someone out this way to watch and learn. I have no doubt I'll be able to pick this up once I get out there. I'm dying to hit the water. Well hopefully soemone from this area checks this site!

You could get in touch with AJ of kitetricity.com, he rides in the area. It would be good if we had more activity from the NE coast on the site but it is still developing.

hi Dan
I live in Melbourne and ussualy kite at riverside "crack" park just south of 192 on Indian river. Most of the guys kite there and most probably you will be able to see whole bunch of them on any windy day.

I'm in Orlando and just got some lessons this weekend. I am looking to hit the east coast and start kiting. Don't have a board yet just a kite, but I can always practice some more body draging untill I can pick up a used one.

kis,

thanks, I'll check it out in the coming weeks, what are you flying and I'll look for you? What's the experience evel of riders out there? I'm also looking for someone to help out a newbie. took a lesson about a year or two ago to learn the basics and just never followed up... now that I live near the water I'm looking to break back into it, anyone you'd recommend around here? Thanks and I'll head out that way.

Take more lessons! Don't go expecting the peoples kiting to teach you. They are there to kite, you need lessons. Anyone will help a newbie but no one wants to teach someone. The basics amount to being self sufficient. It doesn't sound from you post that you have had more than 1 lesson 2 years ago...long time bro.

I agree with Jaime. People will give u some tips but everybody is there to ride. U can see kiters of all levels there. A lot of people learn to kiteboard there because it is shallow. It is kind of hard to launch but everybody is very friendly and will help u. If u have very little experience I would strongly suggest some lessons. There is couple of local guys that teach. The only one I know is AJ with "Kitetricity" kiteboard school. U can also get some info from Rick who works at Extreme Sports (the only kite store in Brevard) on Eau Gallie in Indian Harbour Beach. I am from Poland so if u come to "crack" park on a windy day and ask about Polish guy that speaks with an accent and rides big ass Crazy Fly most likely people will point at me.
Good luck
Kris

Hey Dude,
I have been looking for someone to kite with locally. I live in Indian Harbour and my skills are minimal but I am self sufficient.
I work for Sea-Doo and have access to watercraft and sport boats to do down winders.
Let me know if you need a bud.
