Did they tell you they were going to use the shot in this issue? It isn't that old a shot, I used to have the same picklefork. Never had enough wind for it though if it is the one I am thinking of. Must have been at least 2001!

Just took another look, was that the original Naish wrist leash attached to your bar? I had some of those, boy did they release (too)easy.

The photo is copyright ownded by Danny Steyn and I am not sure if they contacted him for permision to publish......I did not know about it till I saw it here....
Kind of funny actually to see the old Naish kite bar and Picklefork...
I think this is a hoax until I see it for real...
Hey Rick..are you sure you didnt photoshop my picture on some phony Magazine cover????

Nice shot. Yep, I remember that Picklefork too. It made a unique sound when riding it. Remember? Shlurpppppppppp... as the water went between the forks.....
I bet most newer riders on that kite and board (looks like the 141?) couldn't go upwind for a grand these days (in 15 knots).:D

I will keep this copy for you if you like. It was mailed out as a supplement with the South Florida Business Journal late last week.

I had two pickleforks, one that was too small for normal winds and one that was pretty good for moderate winds. Were you on the higher wind version in the shot.

Yes Scott those were the days. I actually liked the larger picklefork but eased away from it after I heard about the Argentinian girls impromptu surgery with one on Maui many years ago.

This the 171 and was the larger of the LF forks...I was always in fear of a swimmer popping up in front of me and getting all forked up! The boards actually went upwind pretty well...After the forks I switched to the Hana Crew boards until 05 I started riding Slingshot and Underground boards...Amazing how the directionals have returned to be popular...If the forks come back someday I would be suprised...Here is a picture of a unique homemade board that showed up on Lauderdale beach years ago....I call it the "TANK" This was unbeleiveable, and with a rescue paddle!!!.. I wonder if Leo is still kitesurfing today..Leo , are you out there???

Wow, and I thought 171 sounded big. I never saw one that big.

Great shot Chris, thanks for putting it up! I love the bailout paddles and it has to take a record for kiteboard width. How well did it ride in the light stuff?

It took me forever to give up directionals probably two years after most were on twin tips. I still have several too, go figure. Now I have trouble riding them due to all the heaving and surface slapping. How things change.

Sounds, I didn't have any unusual sound that I recall Scott. Damn, now I'm going to have to get one again just to checkout the acoustics.
