It doesn't look too bad in Marathon per the forecast unlike the SE mainland. I would check things out again in the morning . Looking somewhat hairy further north on the SE mainland. More at:

Did anyone get out today? I was able to get out after 5 pm for a while off Delray, head high surf and side shore wind going 15 to about 28 mph. It filled in further offshore. It was hovering to slightly side offshore which finally set in late along with a drop in wind speed. Fortunately, we were all onshore before that. It was a nice session although a bit uneven at points.

I took the day off and spent it at Crandon. They made me wear a helmet so I drove down the block to The Kite Shop and picked one up - good to have anyway from now on.

I arrived at around 9:30am with my one kite quiver - Contra Bow 12m - but people were overpowered on their 7 meters. Somebodys wind meter was showing gusts of up to 33 mph. Finally another guy showed up with a 12 meter and after seeing him pull it off I gave it a shot.

I ended up having a great day with a bunch of sessions. I was definately reaching the wind range limit for my 12 meter Contra and I weigh 220 and was on by smallest board - but those bow kites can really depower nicely. Also, it was nice because Crandon was not very crowded.

Hope other people were able to get out and ride today!
