Thank you to all the Riders, Sponsors, Media and the crowd of spectators who attended our KITE4GIRLS this past Saturday April 7th 2007 in Crandon park, Key Biscayne .

We just released the pics on the site www.kiteforgirls.com, check it out , Best Of the ...beach time that day !

The NNW wind in the morning didn’t allow clean riding conditions and those who tried confirmed right away , as the attempts ended ½ mile downwind, kite in the water , swimming back to the shore .

Then the wind shifted slightly north and died off for the rest of the afternoon, leaving just blue sky above us and ideal temperature for a perfect day on the beach !

Yes we know, wind was good on the following weekend , but we had to make a call. We can't be lucky every year; even though i consider "abnormal " more than "unlucky " a No-wind condition for 7 days in a row in early April, which is usually a solid easterly wind season at 90% .

So let's keep the best of that 2007 K4G event:

Things that happenned that day:

- 2 flash-twisters of 2 min each , just the time to blew up 2 tents and 50 kites on the beach ! 360 of wind out of nowhere was epic.

- attempt of flying a 27m kite with 50 m lines... / attempt of kite towing ...not much success

- wakeboard demo / long board padling demo

- Sponsors sales at booth all day

- food and beverage for all

- sunburns all day

- Bikini contest all day ( they just didn't knew about it)

- Perfect set up and logistic from Miamikiteboarding ( thanks)

Things that didn't happen that day

- Kitesurfing race / contest / freestyle/ action / nada ...

- Men chest contest ( Bikini contestant request !)

- sandcastle contest

- $15,000 surprise cash prize money for the winner ( agghh, too bad! )

Most of it to be remembered : It was cool to have riders from all over Florida sharing the day on Crandon beach until sunset .

The turn-Out this year was great again: Damian and Ray Leroy, Hamish mc Donald, Daphnee la Liberte, Melissa Gil...and all local figures. They all came , and they all stayed. thanks to all riders who made the drive.

It just appeared again that our Kitesurfing community in Florida is eager to move from one Event to another , and enjoy the fun just being there and ride together on all the great spot florida offers .

So no worries, you all made us excited to work on next year's K4G.

But we will boost it to the next level as it turned out to be one of the biggest Kitesurfing event in Florida and deserves to go full size now : 2 days of Event over the weekend with freestyle - boarder cross - and long distance contest, Men & Women , Amateur and Pros categories .

We will also go full size on the cash purse, accomodations for riders from all over, entertainement during the day and After-Party .

We start working on it right now and call for major sponsors who will make it happen with us.

Thanks for all your hard work Christophe and best to all the troops that made the event possible. You have been so lucky with the wind for so long, it had to give at some point. Still, it was a fun day.

Photos are in the mill, writeup to come soon. Got some interesting shots.
