Hi,
A friend leading the French kiteboarding federation is asking me about the US kiteboard league.
Does anyone knows if there is something like a national league or federation for kiteboard organizing events and competitions?
Thanks.

Tony

There is nothing, no matter what is said, it is very unorganized. It has been tried but not to any sucess.

Neil Hutchinson has been talking about a league concept, starting in Florida and perhaps exporting the concept nationwide. I sent an email out to him for his input. What sort of league competition did your friend in France have in mind?

Thanks for the heads up on the BBC kiteboarding coverage. Hope someone over there uploads it to youtube or the like.

Kiteboarding has joined years ago the FFVL (kite.ffvl.fr) A national federation including paragliding, delta, powerkiting ...
This federation provides insurance, sponsorize schools, represent kiteboarder interests with local authorities and manage events (french championship, demo ...)

They are now willing to create a French pro-riders team and an international division. This is still a project, that is why they are doing some benchmark.
Thanks.
