Hi All,

Looks like a really good weekend of NE winds comin' up and I want to do a downwinder from Pompano to Ft Lauderdale. So far it's just me and a buddy, but I wanted to invite anyone who wants to come. The total distance is 8 miles with 2 piers to navigate. (no inlets) We have a truck but you may need to ride in the bed on the way back- 8)

You can reply to this post or just show up at 16th street before 10am saturday morning. Ask for Dustin or Dennis. My cell is 954.263.6053

Sounds like a good downwinder. You may have some company on the water if the forecast persists. The race from Jupiter to Ft. Lauderdale should start around 9:30 am that morning. Guys may start to showup at Tiki Beach in Ft. Lauderdale (the boat launching area opposite Bahia Mar) around 12:00 to 1:00 pm and beyond. There may be something approaching 50 riders. I suspect that they will arrive in two to three primary groups with lots of guys sorted around the clusters. Tiki Beach should get pretty crowded around midday and beyond as a result. So, I would shoot for an early takeoff if you are going to land at Tiki to avoid what may be some serious congestion at this landing area.

Have fun!

Thx for the time info. Maybe we should shoot for an eariler launch time to avoid the traffic, say 9am....on the other hand if we arrived with the crowd at ft lauderdale we could all act like 'posers' & pretend we did the jupiter run
