On average how long does it take you guys to get to the beach when you go out?

Live in Palmetto I-275 Exit 2, takes 10-12 minutes to get to the North rest area, about 4 minutes less to get to the South rest area...more to get to EB, LP, etc obviously.

My vote can count as 3 because Amber and Steve live there too!!!

From Seminole to EB or Skyway it's about 45 minutes.

Anywhere along the beach for a NW-W wind it takes about 2.

I figured most of you guys were pretty close. I'm surprised to hear how far you live Inferno. As much as you talk about being on the water at 4am I figured you were right on the water, lol.

If I'm able to ride here in Tampa maybe 15-30 min depending on the beach. If I have to go to St. Pete then it takes me at least 50 min. Wish I could have a house right in front of EB near by the flag poll. :o

Who can top Lutz? AKA B.F.E.

45 minutes to an hour depending if the flux capicitor is working in the Element. I need a fuse that can handle 2.5 Jigawatz. PEPBOYS is out of stock and wont have them in until 2030. :?

Depends on which part of Lutz. I technically don't live there anymore since I moved near USF a few months back, but I'm close enough I still consider myself in Lutz.

an hour at least. North Tampa where 75 and 275 merge together.

WOW! This poll has turned into a 'who can bitch about having to drive the longest to get to ride' thread...

for all of us in north tampa we should team up and go out to honey moon which is a 20 minute drive and no crowds. :D

I can walk out my back door pump up my kite on a compressor and launch my kite from my back yard. Thats for riding the slick. For the ocean its a 5min walk but then I have to hand pump my kite.

I live in Palm Harbor too but I just take the ski out into the gulf and ride there. I never rode at the Skyway since it was a bit of a drive. Some weekends I ride on Anna Maria because I am visiting friends, maybe I'll have to stop there and check it out. It would be nice to ride with other people since I am usually by myself. I hear at night the Skyway is the place to go, I work until 3am so I'll be taking advantage of that I guess.

Yeah - it's not bad on the weekends either.

I live in Death Valley (Palm Harbor - US19 between Klosterman and Alderman roads). Depending on the time to get out on 19 and making the suicide U-turn across 4 lanes of traffic, I can get to Sunset Beach in Tarpon Springs in around 15 minutes. Once Belcher road is finished up to Klosterman road I should be able to make it in 10. I've made the trip several times after checking the wind meter at Howard Park and when I got there... no wind. If I had to drive 45 minutes to get to a launch site and got skunked, I would go nuts.
