Hi Guys and Girls:
I am in town (Fort Lauderdale or Miami) and I like to ride on Monday and Tuesday, where can I check weather and allowed spots. I have been in Key Biscayne but just wondering which source do you use to check the weather ,

Thanks,

Tatiana

For forecasts NWS does a pretty good job for this area at:

For radar imagery:

For realtime winds:

To see what fronts might be on the way:

We are in the middle of a light weather pattern so we may or may not have wind on Monday or Tuesday. Once the stronger cold fronts start this should change. It is possible that thermal winds might come up in the afternoon which are rarely forecast. You just have to pay attention and hit the beach if the winds come up.

You can checkout info about the designated Ft. Lauderdale launch for upwind riders, Tiki Beach at:

Pompano, a sign is posted with the launch rules here.

Regarding Miami, there is Crandon Park which requires registration, certification and helmets. More about Miami and Hollywood spots at:

Matheson Hammock is another option down there. It can be quite crowded however. They put a sign up with the rules for the launch there.
