That's hardcore. Serious airtime on the last tow up. Unreal.

This is how it's done on the West Side.

Nice, I can see what you mean by most towups in the 30ft range. The last one was sick!

Still, I have to say, this is nothing. Look at the photo I took the other day while I was doing a tow-up behind Eagle's boat:

I told Eagle to lay off of the gas the next time we try one. I think we went too fast.

I am not surprised by the negativity and lack of support out there on Kiteforum, hopefully most see the value in what Billy and Jayson are doing and appreciate their efforts...they are VERY safety conscious and I, for one admire them both for 'pushing the envelope' which will ultimately help the sport grow...

Remember that video "High" in which Elliott, Flash, and Lou Wainman tied a rope to the back of a harness and were seeing how high the kite would take them while a few guys held the rope on a jetty upwind? I think that was done at Kite Beach in Maui. Same concept here, expect the jet ski allows you to move around, get higher.

It's good to see Jayson and Bill using a grab handle and not tying off to the tow rope. Also, it is interesting that they are starting to throw tricks while still holding the rope at lower altitudes.

Obviously, the risks appear significant, especially on the supa' big jumps. I consider both Jayson and Billy friends and want to see these two continue to kite here for a long time, so I hope they continue to respect the big tow ups for the risks they present. Neither Billy or Jayson strike me as being suicidal, stupid, or possessed of a depraved recklessness, however, as accused by some of the posters on kiteforum (who would probably not have the balls to say sh*t to either Jayson or Billy in person).

That being said, Billy and Jayson obviously march to drummers that have bigger cojones than average.

Uh oh, it is starting. Attack of the alter egos.

Josh and Kevin were the first to witness this on the "old" forum, as I recall. (Remeber Magnum PI and Mr. Know it All talking about the Hurricane Video?)

Slippery slope / / / / / /

Yeah, I remember registering for the forum for the first time last year when I was a newbie in the middle of all of that and being WAY thrown off by it and posting something like "why can't all these guys just check their egos at the door?"...

Probably just someone from kiteforum since people keep linking to this site...

That is just awesome. I know everyone is asking but I'd like to test that out on a short rope.

Yeah that looks fun as hell. A 30-40ft rope would be a blast probably fairly safe if the water was deep enough.
