How are the winds in mid to late August?

Maybe, normally the earlier in August the better. . I had a look at ikitesurf for last August and it seems like the wind approached 20 mph for about 15 days out of 30. The closer you get to September the more uneasy the winds can be, throughout the Carribean. Also, tropical systems aside from bringing in dangerous squalls can also kill the winds or send them offshore as happened to me two years back.

Normal wx patterns are shifting. Still, I would ask around and see what people have to say about your prospects.
