Brian Eagle called me today saying that someone has brought in a 15m ION and is willing to sell it for $1,000.00. I guess he bought it fairly recently and opted afterwards to buy something else. If anyone is intrested please call Water Sports West.

Sure you know the drill. Meet Ebone on the back side in 20 minutes.

Since I am DP Danny's latest pimp, he will now perform any act for kite supplies. I of course get a cut of his action and buy his kite supplies for him. Ebone has already stepped up with dibs on DP Danny. Lets all thank Ebone for his support on DP Danny's addiction. :P

Man, whoever is selling a 15m Ion is smoking crack. Must be somebody who is new or just hates flat kites, because otherwise they'd have a kite boner. The 15m Ion is the shit.

Danny, I don't know what Chris is talking about, saying he is your pimp, or that I have dibs on you. Maybe he's smoking crack, too. Wait--maybe that's Chris's Ion that's for sale! What a crackhead.

Next thing Chris will sell is his Element, and then I'll have to kick him off Team Elemental.

No chance on me selling the Element, unless Techno Chic wants to trade cars for a while.

E-bone. I basically said your post word for word (Ask Chili  ).
Just got off the phone with him. He is a strong spirited guy, and will be back riding before too long.

I told him about the return/sale of the Ion and that I said "that guy must be on crack on the forum" but that I felt I needed to delete it. Now that you said it first though, I agree.....that kite rocks. Can't wait for some crackhead somewhere to return one to this shop so I can purchase it cheap :)
Hey, you better check your Element and make sure yours isn't stolen :x
(That's a more reasonable explanation, cuz obviously the guy never flew it!)

To each his own, I guess 8)

Scott, it is good to hear that Chili's mind is in the right place. He is a great guy and no one wants to see a great guy like that get hurt. I met his brother last year on a trip to Cabarete and both he and his brother are simply outstanding, fun-loving people who are great to have around. I am glad to see that Chili's accident isn't robbing him of that spirit.

As far as the Ion is concerned, "to each his own" is right, I guess. I never want to dis on someone for having different tastes than I do regarding which kite to ride. I was just surprised to see someone wanting to dump an Ion.

What is it? A mazda rx8/rx7/cosmo(that was the other mazda rotary from the 70's right?)?

D'Oh! You only know that because I told you :P

Yes, I'll let you drive her Toby. The only problem may be your height. Anyone over 6' 1" has a head-room issue. I have to open the sun roof for one freind that's 6' 7".

It's a Mazda RX8

toby wilson

NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ION would primarily be for Amber...her every day kite. I was gonna just let her fly my older kites but if I can get a good deal and maybe trade a couple of my kites in, why not?

I hope it happens. We got alot of stuff to demo (too much, IMO :o )

BigR
06-29-2006, 06:07 AM
Tropical wave pushing thru southern tip of FL should give us some wind....

that accuweather is funky, it gives st. auggy 10-15 for the weekend, mymami 14-16 and st.petey 11-15

Hopefully everyone will get some wind

personally I use the marine forecasts

windguru

and iwindsurf meteograms

as well as some short term models;

Hey the Keys and miami are looking the windiest this july fourth weekend; any ideas?

I'm the guy who sold the Ion - I've been advised by quite a few people with experience that this was a bad move, but like EBone said, "to each his own".

Speaking of Ebone, you & Alex helped me launch that kite one day at Ft DeSoto (I appreciate the help & the adivce - you guys are money!).

I'm new & I dont havemuch experience, but I like the feel of the other 2 kites I have (Naish) & am replacing the Ion with a Contra - hopefully it will be a decent move.

Anyone have any opinion on the 14 Contra?

BigR
06-29-2006, 09:48 AM
I have heard people say that it is one badass kite

http://www.kiteforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2329264

I myself am selling my 12M and 16M Crossbow to get the new 14M and 17M Contra kites

E-Bone
06-29-2006, 09:54 AM
bono, it'z all about being happy with your quiver, so if you like your Ion's replacement better, then you are better off without the Ion. Having met you that day with Alex, I am glad to report to the forum that this is certainly not a crack-influenced sale.

good luck, bono, and I will see you on the beach.

bono
06-29-2006, 10:12 AM
Ebone - cool & thanks

I'm always learning & will give newbie opinion on the Contra when I get it.

I'll be out there bustin' my ass this weekend.

I'm moving to Eastern Germany (Dresden) so if anyone comes through the area & needs a place to stay, let me know - its about 1.5 hours south of Berlin & 2 hours north of Prague - great, cheap beer (even though its warm)

Skyway Scott
06-29-2006, 10:31 AM
John,

Don't take my comments too seriously. The contra is a great lightwind kite, no questions. I tend to exaggerate with words like CRACKHEAD... BONER BRAINS.. etc... too try to get a laugh. :D

As Bayflite often says "ALL kites kickass" 8)
Now boards.. well... lemme tell ya' a stor..... (Daryl just came in)

Bono,

Thanks for the gr8 deal on the ION and noone thinks you are crazy for selling it. Like you said, each to their own...

So you have decided you are DEFINITELY moving to Germany? Pretty cool... I'll have to visit with my Czech friend, we were already planning a trip in about a year to the Czech Republic!!!

It was cool to meet you and hope to see you at EB this Saturday!!!

Toby!

Great buy w/ the ION.. I really think you are going to see a major progression immediately.

Is this area a Flexi ripe spot or what??

Wow... I felt like I was going w/ the trends by picking up a Waroo.. now I feel like a outcast, sideshow freak.. ha!

The new ion looks awesome...Bono takes VERY good care of his kites....can anyone say OCD? jk. seriously though, I MIGHT let Toby right it...

in the meantime, hopefully it will give me a quick learning curve and I'll be out there riding with the big kids soon. (I'm really getting sick of the backside. I'm too paranoid to play out there yet..) when is it gonna blow from the other way???)

Saturday morning. Dawn Patrol. Get up at 5:15 am, charge if buoy is 17 or above. Get to north Skyway by 5:45 to 6:00 a.m., on the water by 6:15 or so. That is my plan.

The early bird almost always get the east session at the Skyway. I am not afraid to say it and give away the secret, because no one ever gets their asses out of bed anyhow.

I rode the ION today, so did Bryan L. until the wind died, then a nice long walk!!! I need a few more knots before I can make up my mind as to whether I like it so Saturday will probably be the test.

Amber, what do you mean you will 'let' me ride it??? I bought the darn thing!!! :P

Eric, don't bother telling her to wake up at anytime before noon on a weekend...it won't happen...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...while I'm riding!!! :D
