Thunderstorms are starting to show up regularly. It's a good time to think ahead to all of the good wind we'll get this fall and reflect on how it's not worth dying over a summer session because you kited next to a thunderhead.

I had my epiphany last summer after I saw a bolt hit the middle of Big Pass, right where I had been riding, about 30 minutes after I got off of the water. There were no atheists on the beach at that moment.

Good point and interesting story. Florida is way ahead in lightning activity compared the rest of the country. Guess which part of Florida has the highest activity? You guessed it, the Tampa Bay area.
