I'm shopping for a kite but don't know what I need yet. I'm completely new to the sport. I'll have a trainer kite next week.

Which one of the above would be the best for a moderately small girl just starting out?

(I'd prefer to give my money to forum members)

(I'd prefer to give my money to forum members)go for some bow kites, like the Cabrinha Crossbow, or Cabrinha, Switchblade.
really good kite to learn on

you will learn so much faster with a bow kite, then on a C kite

I will have my 12 meter switchblade for sale soon, once i get it repaired... i'll sell it to you at a good price if you want it.

Bows are easier to learn on... By the way, who is technochick? Have you taken lessons yet? I see a few new people on here.

Kev,

Technochick's real name is Karen Sipe. She worked with me at my old job. Cool chick! She drives either a crotch rocket or a small red sports car and has short blond hair. Help her out if you see her, she is a very good person and definitely will do well after a lesson or two...

Bows are easier to learn on... and you know this how?... you've never rode one.

I have a brain, that's how.

More depower=easier.

1000's of testimonials on how easy they are, they must be easier. People will be less intimidated by a kite they can depower a whole lot.

Has Karen been to the beach before? I've seen a girl taking lessons out there that was blonde...

I was at EB on Monday and the Skyway on Tuesday. I haven't had any lessons yet. I'll be getting a trainer kite next week.

I'll be out there this weekend :D

BTW: One of my crotch rockets is for sale. Is anybody looking for a Suzuki SV650? It would make a fantastic track bike!

What needs to be repaired on it? I've already started stitching-up kites so I may be able to fix it.

I have a 12M cabrinha crossbow if your interested, I can give you a good deal too. It is in perfect , almost new shape , everything included.

These really are awesome kites to learn on, prolly the best . usually you can be up and going the first day thats how easy they are to learn on.

At the same time you won't outgrow it either, it is also a very advanced kite for pros or highly skilled kiters.

I'll even throw in a lesson if you buy my kite :D

ah cmon now Raul, you kno I can't beat that!
i need to get my kite sold so i can get a new one, but till then i'm kiteless for a light wind kite.

technochick, it's pretty badly torn up, i highly doubt you can repair it yourself, theres about 4 or 5 tears in the canopy, a rip in a strut that poped it, and also another in the LE that poped it too.

you probably are gana go with Raul's deal now anyways.

Josh,
How about letting me take a look at your kite and seeing what I can do for you for repairs? The more repairs I do, the better I'll get. It couldn't hurt to have a former costume designer try to fix it, now could it? I'll send you a pm with my phone number.

Just ask Toby, he was extremely impressed with the repairs I did on three of his kites. Try to find where the stitching was coming apart along the bladder of the one. You can't even tell where it was fixed!

Raul,
Thanks! I'll be in touch :D

I think I am in love. A girl that fixes kites, rides crotchet rockets, wants to learn to kite surf, and does computers for a living. You will fit in just fine with this crowd Karen, unless this is Toby's alter ego. :P

Yeah but dating one of these gems is like sitting on a pile of gold, everyone tries to swipe it from you! :D Sometimes life just isn't fair!
