seriously though...seems like it would work.
maybe for the cool guys it could have a self inflated(co2cartrige)ballast triggered when separation occurs.

I would like to see one in action. If it ALWAYS rights itself, I would be interested. It also makes the board highly visible (sometimes I simply lose sight of mine out on those strong NWs in the chop). I would be willing to use one on those days where risk of losing your board is VERY high (relative to other days) due to losing sight of it and being SO litt (when winds go from 20 to 35), that body dragging upwind sometimes just is not possible. This actually happened to me on the DW day of the Boom boom match. Noel saved my board (thank goodness). I body dragged for 10mins to no avail 'til he showed up and got it.
