Just got back from a wedding in Hope Town in the Abacos. You guys in the Bahamas are blessed with no end of launches, flat water, waves, downwinder venues, inter-island runs, great viz ... this could go on for a while. Just look at all the white strips (beaches) in the sat. image. This shows just a small fraction of the Bahamas.

800 islands with hundreds of square miles of water, lucky guys! See you when the wind kicks in.

I think the western and perhaps part of the Central Bahamas may share some of the wind prospects of parts of Florida this time of year. That is not much to none. Still, there is the odd bit of useable wind that slips through. I put together a summer survival guide for Florida guys, it might extend to folks on New Providence. Although, you are a lot closer to possible tradewinds further down the Bahamas than any of us on the west side of the Straits, hint!

Anyway, check it out ...

Hey AJ,

We were very lucky with the weather. A nasty squall turned 90 degrees offshore and headed out to vanish just before things cranked up on the beach. This ended a several day period of overcast sky. The sunset over Hope Town Harbour was incredible to wrap things up. It really is better in the Bahamas. No wind to speak of, then again, I wasn't expecting any. Just sunny skys and great sunsets on the big day.

Great weather at the beach.

Sunset over the harbour.

The Islands delivered!

Aside from some exposed and irregular rock neashore on some of the "sand" beaches, the launches frequently looked incredible. As they say, just add wind, soon!

the best thing I like about abaco's is that you don't need a car ,you can do all of your running arround by boat and walk if you have to.
(I hate trafic don't you)
nothing is to far away, the people are plesant and the water and wave's and wind in winter rock.
paul and I will have to do somthing down there one day soon.
so I guess the weight is off your sholders now you have done the deed and got nuptualized.
well done man congrats.
quick note I just got my permanent rez here for the bahamas after waiting for 3 years.
and #3 baby coming in 4 weeks it's a girl.(the doc recons)

Congratulations on your new family member and on the residency status. Things are moving on. Have a blast down in Brazil, I have yet to make it there. Maybe next year?
