Billy Parker!!

The best trick was judged by the riders and the overwhelming majority (95%) voted for Billy.
1k wealthier and major recognition.

Billy threw down a tow up behind a jet ski, 60 feet at least, 3 kiteloops on the way down and rode away. The crowd went wild and before he could do another one the rope got sucked into the ski.

I have personally seen Bills tow-ups on several occasions and he is just FEARLESS!!! Great job Billy! We should all buy him a long island iced tea or two for his insanely positive reflection of St. Petersburg on the rest of the kiteboarding world...Bill and now Josh and Alex have effectively put St. Pete on the kiteboarding map!!!

AWESOME.

Funny thing is, we saw one even higher also with 3 kiteloops that he rode away from clean just last week at the Skyway (like Toby said). Sweet!
We were all going crazy out there watching that stuff! Glad it got best trick, I know it was the most unreal thing I've in a while
(I wondered why he was risking getting hurt just prior to a comp... now I know :P )

Can we fast forward thru the podcast?
I never got past the first 15 minutes of sponsor shout outs and similar stuff.
Also, can we somehow go straight to Bill and stuff?
I've never listened to one, so am clueless.

Just heard Bill's interview and it was awesome. Good job Bill. I think our boy has finally hit the bigtime and noone deserves it more than he does.

Great stuff on the podcast.

I've seen a lot of great kiteboarders ride, but Billy is something else. His moves are so big and powerful, he inspires more sheer terror on the water than anyone else I have seen.

Given the combination of his skills and his great attitude, I think he's going to be one of the next big riders. A lot of kiters and potential kiters, including me, can relate to a guy like Billy, who works hard and doesn't carry around a shitload of attitude. Good for him. He deserves every bit of success he gets in this sport.

Yep. He reminds me alot of Alex Aguera (at his time, one of the best pro windsurfers in the world who swithched to kiting for the sheer love of it)
Guess where HE is from? Yep, right down the street baby. :P

Bill and Alex are both world class athletes and even more world class guys, its been one of my biggest pleasures (in sport) to meet Alex (when I was a newbie) and to watch Bill progress from a newbie. I've been involved in sports my whole life and llucky enough to travel the country with two of them. These two guys are some of the greatest I've met. (Rowan McNabb is the best all around guy I ever met.. good luck figuring that one out)

You know what would be fun? To place a bet on time frame til Bill is in a video (such as Space Monkeys) Given editing time frames, etc. I bet 14 months. Any takers. (Lets bet 10 bucks)

Of mention is another local who is charging the world with sailboard racing and literally shooting for gold.

So, St.Pete cranks out great surf/wind men.

.

I'll take the bet and raise you another $10 that Bill will be in a Tronolone kite video within 12 months.

Sounds like a good bet :D
Its not how long it takes someone to ask, but final product. Either way, it won't be long. Okay we have one vote for 14 and one for 12 months. :P
