Is it going to blow or not today? I am a crazed jonzer and I want to charge. Unless you are a top-secret agent on double secret probation, document your riding plans here.

I am sketched on today. I woke up bright and early and watched Bay News 9 only to see Josh Linker(t?) adjust his forecast from 10-15 knots all day to 5-15 knots in 10 minutes. I didn't feel too confident in his forecast after that so I ditched my plans to call in and drove on in to work...

I will probably try PAG or the backside of the Skyway around 4:30 PM but you are never there to ride with me then anyway, Bone!!!

Toby. Trust me, if "Josh says no --- its gonna BLOW! (seabreeze)"
When he says it is gonna seabreeze, I get sad, and just plan on mowing the lawn

I think tomorrow has better chances, so I am really hoping to ride tomorrow as well.

Did Josh give tomorrow the thumbs down? (let's hope so)

I will be giving Cypress a try today with Chris Moore. I will be out there around 4 or so. I am thinking around 13 knots or so.

Its starting to pick up on the beach now. Still alot of NE but it is starting to go more N and should be NNW by 2pm.

IRB should be where its at. Southside SW is another good option if its light on the northside.

Yeah,

It'll be NW today for sure. It's just whether the beach or inland is gonna blow harder. Today has all the "ingredients" for a NW blow (how hard, who knows?)

I would be leaving work earlier if I could and driving to the beach, but am stuck til 3:30 and have noticed that if forced to ride around 4pm, that Cypress seems to peak at 5pm on NWs. The beach (when it does seabreeze) is commonly already done by 5pm.

So Toby,

Where are you gonna go?

I think I'll wait until around 3:30 to see what the faulty sensors say. That way I'll have about a 90% chance of getting skunked again!

But seriously, I'd rather ride flat water (backside skyway) but it will depend what the wind is doing. That will be my first choice, then probably Indian Rocks just because it is closer than Cypress (and I have no gas and no money until tomorrow) and if neither of those are happening then I'll cave and (use credit for gas) drive up to Cypress.

DAMN... skyway sensor just hit ZERO.... I am gonna miss the seabreeze that is gonna start in 20 minutes at PaG.

Oh well, cypress at 4, I guess.

We don't need to know about your personal life Bryan, we don't need to know where you put your ice cream more so if you actually eat it afterwards!!!

A little North of blue flag was good... not powered, but enough to do some downwind runs.

Cypress was good. Sustained gusts (5-8 min) upto 18-19mph with constant 14-15mph.

Water was clear over the flats.

Scoot F., Chris M., and Gary were riding 16-18M kites.

Solid day for summer.

It looks like it cranked at picnic island the one time that I chose Blue Flag over it. I rode a 19 Boxer and did a lot of walkin up the beach. Great scenery though and that does everything but add to wind speed.

Yep,

Cypress was pretty good (for cypress) I would say 12 to 20. But most of the time right around 15 (like Shane said).
It seems to me like the wind is more stable off to the right (grass flats) and the current over to the left was a b#$%h today. So, I stayed off to the right (north) most of the time. Going upwind in that area was a breeze and the water is fairly flat.
It might be worth working hard for ten minutes to get upwind in there :D
I have ridden there maybe 8 times in the last 5 weeks and it seems like that is a pretty normal distribution of the wind and the current on an average day.
(Better off to the right, I mean)

Thanks for the wind confirmation post Shane, it definitely helped my decision of where to ride.

18 more minutes and I would have had 4 hours of water time on my 15m Ion. Rode the 130cm Abreu in the surf all damn day, aside from 20 minutes down in the glass ripping it up with Hazmatt. Big jumps, epic session.

Not too shabby, byatches.

backside was OK when i first got there.. was wishing i had something bigger than 12m bow. put the kite up.. after 2 jibes just holding upwind.

WOOOOSH

somebody somewhere flipped a switch and it was blowing like mad. absolute SWEET spot for the 12m kite today for at least 90 minutes. My jumps today were much higher than ever before, much more float time... much softer and powered landings.. everything was perfect until i put my kite in a tree. then .. after that hour long episode of reparing, being pissed at myself, etc.. i hit the water again just to cool off and barely held ground until Jason loaned me his skim board and I had some fun on that.. first time ever strapless.. was GREAT.

all in all a very good day .. combined with yesterday I am content.
