I need INFO on gear and kiteboarding schools- pre-beginner

Hello my name is Kristen. I am 18 years old and I have been doing soo much research on Kitesurfing/kiteboarding. I have no idea what kind of gear to get or what I need. I am looking to take lessons but I cant find any in the Sarasota/Tampa area.
If anyone has any information to share please help me. Thanks

I wouldn't worry about gear until after you have had some lessons. There is quite a bit of info on schools in that area on this site, including:
