Greetings I just moved to anna maria from northern calif and i used to ski like 80+ days a year, needless to say i cant do that anymore.I saw people kiteboarding the other day, and I have to learn how to do this!
I would like to find out where i could get a used board and kite and mabey meet some new friends that would give me some pointers.I catch on to things pretty quick so hopefully someone can get me started.

Welcome to Florida Damien. Despite the easy appearence of kiteboarding it carries some hazards some obvious, some less so particularly to new riders. It would be best to track down the best Pro instruction that you can find. Guys used to learn to hang glide and SCUBA dive on their own and through friends. Why did things change?

Some reasons appear at:

and a lot of ideas for getting into the the sport appear at:

I wouldn't worry about buying kites (you'll likely need more than one) and a board until you are well into or even through with instruction. This can save buying the wrong stuff and early training accidents that can result in damaged gear, riders and access.
