I hope eveyone is getting their share of these incredible winds this week. Christmas came twice this year and it is still coming too!

Eagle got in touch with some ideas for additional content for the St. Pete/Tampa Bay Forum. Things like a stand alone "Lets Ride" and "Lost and Found" sections. I can do this fairly easily by creating a special main section for the St. Pete/Tampa group (like "How To Start Kiteboarding). What other sections, if any, would you folks like to see?

Eagle also mentioned being able to upload photos. I would really like to be able to do this. The existing gallery is not real user friendly or reliable for that matter. Tom Stock mentioned a phpBB "hack" such as is used on kiteforum for attaching photos to posts. Does anyone know about this hack and how to implement it? In the meantime there are ways that folks can upload images described at:
http://fksa.org/viewtopic.php?t=361

We were working on a vBulletin forum to replace this one. That approach is supposed to be better and more secure than the current free phpBB version. Sadly, I have zippo background in most of this stuff. So, it can take time to pull together.

Anyway over to you, other ideas & suggestions?

Just let people use photobucket or imageshack...

It's simple...

You just need to type out img inside brackets [here] then put the url then /img inside brackets [here]

Simple, and less bandwidth costs for Rick.

Just like getting around wordbans using one bold letter to break it up.

Upload it to a photobucket account.

Danny,

This forum does not allow posting from you harddrive to a message so you need to upload it to a website that hosts images for you.

I personally prefer www.flickr.com

free and is really user friendly. Allows you to create photoalbums and organize your stuff. Very nice site.

There are tons of other ones as well.

Once you get that setup, each image will have an accesible URL (web address) that you can send people to for viewing of the photo or you can use the method that Optionryder420 mentioned to get it in a forum post here.

Let me know if this confuses more than helps.

:)
