Normally, I would advise going straight to lessons in which a trainer kite should be provided. Some ideas to consider when choosing a kiteboarding instructor/school appear in How to Start Kiteboarding located at:

http://fksa.org/viewforum.php?f=102

and specifically under: http://fksa.org/viewtopic.php?t=1130

I heard that the Boardroom in Naples no longer has an instructor on staff. I am not sure if this is still true or not. Rick or Latino in Marco Island was pursuing his instructors but I am not certain if he has completed the program yet or not. To the north in the Sarasota area, there is Laurel with http://www.islandstylewindsurfing.com/ . Further north in the Tampa /St. Pete area there is Eagle with www.tampabaykiteboarding.com . A lot of instructors list info at: http://fksa.org/viewforum.php?f=42

The pricing of lessons varies as does the content. I would carefully consider the ideas for selecting an instructor discussed in the article referenced above and talk to some candidate instructors in your area.

You can PM Latino through this website. I don't have Laurel and Eagle's email addresses but suspect you will find them at the website addresses listed in the post above this one along with those of other instructors in the area.

Have fun

Great job and nice site! Please be sure to put up a post including links under instructors at:

http://fksa.org/viewforum.php?f=42

Also, we don't have any moderators for the SW Florida Forum. Would you be interested? It mainly involves fielding questions, focusing discussions, and tossing in ideas on an occasional basis.

Congratulations!

Outstanding, you're in! You will notice stuff at the bottom of the post window to make announcements, stickies, setup polls, etc.

Have fun and thanks!

The guy who gave me lessons is a dude from Ft. Myers, I can set you up with him if you are still looking...I know your last post was a while ago, but I just signed on, let me know...later
