Cape Hatteras

I am going to Black Moutain Sept 1st and may go to @Cape Hatteras for a few days, anyone recommend a place to stay? Not so sure about the wind that time of year,.; If anyone knows of a good campground that would be an option as well, any input would help, thanks Scott L

There are guys on here you have been to Hatteras a lot more than me. I only went twice and years back. As I recall, September is said to be a good time to go. Looking at ikitesurf for Waves for the last few years, there has been good wind at least 50% of the time or more. There has been the odd tropical storm as well boosting wind into 60 mph+ range in early September too. Hopefully not this year, for any of us. Have a great trip!
