Enrique with www.swfloridakiteboarding.com called me with an update on this situation. As of now, NO KITING is permitted in Naples north of 18th Avenue South (located six blocks south of the pier). Complaints related to poor kiting behavior on crowded beaches and inside the swim buoys to the Mayor's office resulted in these severe restrictions on access. ADDITIONAL restrictions may be imposed by the City depending on how things go. For now, there are the three rules for kiting in this remaining area.

1. No kiting is permitted north of 18th Avenue South in Naples,FL.

2. Routine kiting is not permitted inside the swim buoys in this area.

3. For the times kiters run in and out inside the swim buoys, once per session, they need to do so with full care and at slow speed.

Please pass the word along as not all kiters may know about this or exercise the simple courtesy and common sense needed to avoid this problem in the first place. Avoiding obvious complaints is key in stopping problems like this from ever coming about.

Note- this is a repost, my post from yesterday was lost in a short lived website crash.
